FAQ

How do you keep your product pricing so affordable?

There are several ways! The first being that we are a family business, which means we are not paying multiple employees. The second being that we are a small business, meaning we do not have a lot of overhead costs. We make everything in small batches which keeps our products fresh and keeps prices down. We also keep things small. Online sales and local boutiques are the main way we sell while most of our competition has to rely on mass distribution for an income stream.

What is the environmental impact of small batch business?

From start to finish, hand crafted products make a smaller environment footprint. Packaging is thought through intentionally to reduce waste. Ingredients are bought in small batches within the USA, which helps generate a smaller carbon footprint because nothing goes to waste.

Are small cosmetic business safe?

Yes! Made Known Market LLC partners with trusted suppliers who are FDA certified and GMP compliant. Many of our ingredients and suppliers are certified organic. We check all of our ingredients on EWG's database and run our formulations through an established cosmetic formulation institution. In addition, we encourage every consumer to be a life-long learner of the world around them, including the goods they use and consume.

What kind of preservatives do you use in you products?

The two we use the most are radish root extract and liquid germall plus. Radish root extract is a plant extract used in liquid products. Germall Plus is a lab made preservative for oil based products that used in .5% or less has been proven absolutely safe!

What is the difference between a body mist and a perfume?

A body mist uses 2-5% of fragrance oil while a perfume uses 20-30%. Our perfumes and colognes use 30% essential oils in them for the highest quality aroma!

Are you an all natural company?

No! While we lean heavily toward natural ingredients, we are not 100% a natural company. The "why" is really important to this question. A handful of ingredients are 90% sourced using human trafficking and child labor. That is NOT natural. The 10% that are indeed sourced ethically have an incredible price tag on them. Therefore, when we come across these ingredients we either don't use them or we substitute a man made substittion that has been proven non toxic.

What is the difference between Goat Milk and Donkey Milk soap?

Both are wonderful! The main difference is that donkey milk is a little thicker and creamier. Donkey milk is also more rich in Vitamin C, boosting the immune system. Donkey milk is less exfoliating than Goat milk due to its lower acid level and tends to be better for oily vs dry skin.
